Erica Liebermann, PhD, WHNP, ANP has a vast amount of experience in the field of women’s health, woven through a very robust academic background.
Erica’s career in healthcare began shortly after she earned her first Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Georgetown University. While working as an Office Manager and Clinic Assistant for a non-profit women’s health organization, Erica completed her second Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and worked as a gynecologic staff nurse. With the same energetic momentum and passion for women’s health, Erica paralleled her work as a nurse with earning her Master’s Degree from Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions. Erica has worked as a Nurse Practitioner since 2002, and also held a leadership role as the Health Services Director for a women’s health organization. Most recently, Erica earned her Doctorate Degree from New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Erica earned multiple academic honors and awards during her undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate education and has truly applied her love of learning to advancing her knowledge in women's health for the benefit of her patients.
"A few years ago, I came up with three words that describe what I seek to do in my women’s health practice: educate, celebrate, inspire. I provide information and guidance about women’s health, provide routine preventive care and manage health challenges. I also strive to recognize the inherent strength and wisdom women bring to the health care relationship. My personal focus is centered around fundamental elements that I try to model every day including healthy living, work-life balance, and a generally optimistic outlook."
Over the years of providing gynecologic services to women from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, Erica has developed a strong interest in cervical health, cervical cancer screening guidelines, and global cervical cancer prevention. Erica has co-authored multiple research publications on these topics and is a Clinical Consultant and Trainer for Grounds for Heath, a mission-driven, international non-profit organization focused on increasing coverage of cervical cancer prevention services in coffee growing communities and beyond.
Outside of academics and career life, Erica is a mom, partner, and endurance athlete. She spends many hours running with her Sunday hilltown running group, ran her first marathon in 2019, and loves hiking and biking with her partner and children. She speaks four languages, travels abroad often, and is thrilled to share her global curiosity and love of travel with her children.
