Gina Quinlivan is a highly experienced Advanced Practice Gynecologic Clinician with a rich background in the field of medicine and women’s health. Gina received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Fitchburg State College. A strong interest in women’s health led her to a maternal-child health internship with the United States Air Force. While proudly serving in the Nurse Corps, Gina earned the Medal for Meritorious Service.
It was during her time on active duty that Gina was exposed to the midwifery profession, sparking an interest in the underlying philosophy and approach to medicine that form the fundamentals of midwifery care. After an honorable discharge from the military, she went on to earn her Masters Degree in Public Health and Midwife Certification from Boston University School of Public Health. Gina also gained skills and knowledge while working as a Nurse Manager for a local health system’s Women and Infants Department. Since the year 2000 Gina has focused her career on the specialty of gynecologic healthcare, providing women with well-woman care and screenings, family planning including IUD and Nexplanon management, assessment and treatment of common gyn problems and infections, as well as skilled care of LGBTQ clients. Although Gina’s career path has focused on gynecologic care outside of pregnancy, her approach to women’s health remains rooted in supporting women through every stage of life. Gina especially enjoys working with women to educate them about all of their healthcare options in consideration of their long term goals and lifestyle, and feels strongly that women can be empowered by this knowledge.
"I have been providing specialized care to women throughout my entire career, both as a nurse and as a clinician. It is important to me that my patients understand that I am here to advise and to guide them in their healthcare decisions, and that they are ultimately in control. It is also my goal to put women at ease, to ensure they feel comfortable addressing any concern they may have. I get the most satisfaction when patients leave the office feeling confident and reassured."
Gina’s clinical interests include reproductive and menopausal wellness through the lifespan, with a focus on functional medicine. Outside of Gina’s career, she lives with her husband and two of her three adult children in central Massachusetts. She enjoys cooking, weight training, walking her dog and curling. She is an enthusiastic member of the Petersham Curling Club.
